Purpose
This procedure establishes the standardized process for developing AI systems in compliance with the EU AI Act, ensuring that risk management, documentation, and compliance requirements are integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle from concept to deployment and beyond.
Applies To
- All new AI system development projects
- Major enhancements to existing AI systems
- AI systems procured from third parties requiring customization
- AI systems intended for deployment in the EU market
- All AI risk categories (prohibited, high-risk, limited-risk, minimal-risk)
Does Not Apply To
- Off-the-shelf AI systems with no customization (see AI Vendor Management Procedure (PROC-AI-VENDOR-001))
- Research and experimental AI not intended for production
- AI systems explicitly excluded from EU AI Act scope
